Help children in Sri Lanka
Page

Sri Lanka is facing an acute economic and energy crisis.

Soaring prices are making essential supplies like food and fuel beyond the reach for many families. Power is being cut for up to 13 hours a day. Tens of thousands of people are being forced to queue for hours for fuel. The World Bank estimates that 11.7 per cent of people in Sri Lanka are living below the poverty line, earning less than US$3.20 per day.

Children are at the heart of this crisis.

Families are struggling to find enough food. As public transport is cut, children are missing out on both an education and access to school meals, placing them at greater risk of being pushed into child labour.

Six million children are expected to be impacted by this escalating crisis.

By fundraising for UNICEF, you’ll be helping our teams on the ground delivering life-saving supplies including:

  • Therapeutic food to treat malnutrition

  • Food vouchers for pregnant and lactating mother

  • Maternity and neonatal kits

Please donate today and join UNICEF to help children and families in Sri Lanka.

Your donation will go directly towards funding UNICEF's work to reach children in Sri Lanka. If you choose to offer ongoing support with a monthly donation, or in the unlikely event that the funds raised exceed UNICEF’s funding requirements for this appeal, your gift will go to supporting children in need, wherever the need is greatest.
