Crowdfunding Guru for Wildlife Rescue Chaity

As AWARE’s Crowdfunding Guru, you will be leading AWARE’s very first crowdfunding campaign!! You will be planning the crowdfunding campaign strategy, engaging with AWARE’s supporters, bringing in new supporters, marketing the campaign and doing some good for our beautiful native wildlife.
You’re a tech-savvy person who can hit the ground running. You will be reporting to the Committee of Management on planning, progress, issues, opportunities, and achievements. You will have a good understanding of HTML code and marketing and previous experience in crowdfunding will be highly regarded.
There will be opportunities to use your crowdfunding skills for other projects following the successful first campaign.

The role will include:
  • Writing a 1-3 paragraph statement about the project.
  • Creating a brief 1-3-minute video with the ‘pitch’ or case for support.
  • Initiating and supporting request for usage of a third-party platform if applicable.
  • Assuring that accounts are set up for AWARE to receive funds from the crowdfunding effort.
  • Obtaining final approval from AWARE Committee of Management of the crowdfunding site content/campaign page prior to launch
  • Outreach of the project is reliant upon this role. As soon as the project’s site is launched, the coordinator will need to:
    • send emails to supporters, stakeholders, community groups, etc.
    • post links to the campaign project to social media sites.
    • post 3-4 updates on the project during the duration of the campaign.
    • provide public thanks, encouragement, and appreciation as funders make donations.
    • know what types of videos are the most helpful, what photos/app insights are needed to attract contributors, etc.
Requirements:
  • Experience writing and managing successful crowdfunding campaigns.
  • Experience developing content for social media and marketing
  • Previously has successfully achieved sponsorship for a project or initiative
  • Must be able to use own computer or laptop
  • Interest in wildlife rescue and conservation
  • Ability to work autonomously and with integrity
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to meet strict deadlines
  • Attend meetings from time to time (meetings are virtual using Zoom)
  • An excellent level of English is required for this role
AWARE Wildlife Rescue is a non­profit wildlife rescue and rehabilitation group. But, AWARE isn't just another wildlife rescue and rehab group. Our founders and volunteers have been working in wildlife rescue & care for more than 20+ years. We know our wildlife!

Financial Requirements: As AWARE is a self-funded charity, there are financial requirements relating to this role which help to cover our costs. Requirements for this position include AWARE Membership ($30 annual membership fee – or $20 for students/concession)

Time Commitment & Work Location: Flexible but we estimate 2-5 hours per week on average. We ask for a minimum commitment of 6 months.

Additional Requirements: Video producing and editing skills desirable.
Training: Training will be provided for organisational processes and objectives. Volunteer should have existing skill set as per description
