Help protect valuable Oystercatcher breeding habitat
$ 20.00
The Australian Pied Oystercatcher has few spots to breed in the highly urbanised Port Phillip Bay.

With its stunning black-and-white plumage and bright red bill the Australian Pied Oystercatcher is a great character on our local coastal environments. Oystercatchers can be viewed scouring the sand with their bills for prey items including molluscs or crabs.

One local spot for breeding is the St Kilda breakwater, where the Port Phillip EcoCentre undertakes habitat improvement to make the environment for friendly for bird life. Your donation can help in the purchase of suitable plants and protective elements for the successful breeding of these precious birds.
