Depression, anxiety and social isolation can be some of the major issues facing people who have incurred a spinal cord injury. For many, it can be difficult to adjust to a new lifestyle and to come to terms with the injury. This can affect everyone, regardless of the severity or location of the SCI.
Working with a qualified and experienced counsellor who also has a spinal cord injury, clients can get support after what is, for many people, a very traumatic event. It is also important for family to have access to this support, though these sessions are focused on the person with SCI.
